New York Yankees Stadium (USA)

As with the Seattle Mariners Stadium, GigaTera sports lighting was successfully installed in the New York Yankees Stadium. The only difference being the Seattle Mariners Stadium was fitted with the SUFA 800W product, while the New York Yankees Stadium was fitted with SUFA-A 1kW, the upgraded version of the existing SUFA product. One can learn of the success of the installation by listening to the opinions of the MLB auditor.

(Auditor Comments):

The lighting level of the infield is +25% higher and the level in the outfield is +50% higher than the last measurements of the HID system in June 2015. The infield uniformity is approximately the same and the outfield uniformity is much better than the last HID lighting systems measurements. All of this with a 35-40% energy savings. This system is the brightest and has the best uniformities of any ball park in MLB. It should be noted that the infield and the outfield are almost exactly the same (440+ footcandles). It will be interesting to see the reaction of the players to the entire field being lighted to the same levels.

This project is an example of an installation that consisted of replacing the existing 888 units of HID 1kW, 1.5kW, 2kW lighting with 692 units of SUFA-A 1kW LED product. The Flicker-Free that supports UHD broadcasts, color rendering that is closest to natural color, the achievement of even lighting through GeSS solutions creates a pleasant lighting environment to athletes, fans, and viewers - this case shows that without a doubt GigaTera´s lighting technology is decidedly one of the best in the world.
